Nimittä paras = Without any names is the best

Jumalan sanat Moosekselle tämän kysyessä Jumalalta nimeä, jolla hän voisi esittää "työnantajansa" israelilaisille, osoittaa että: 

1. "minä olen se, joka minä olen" on suurin ja ylevin ilmaus, jonka ihminen voi rajoitetulla ymmärryksellään käsittää Jumalasta, ja se ilmaisee täydellisesti hänen ainutkertaisuutensa ja ylivertaisuutensa maailmankaikkeudessa. 

2. Jumala ei lähde selittelemään eikä tarkentamaan nimeään. 

3. Jos Jumala olisi antanut nimekseen vain yhden sanan lauseen sijasta, tekisimme siitä kuitenkin matran, jonka oikeinääntämisestä syntyisi tuhansia kuppikuntia, jotka kilpailisivat paremmuudestaan keskuudessaan tapahtuvien ihmeitten määrällä. Eli keskinäisellä kilpailulla nostaisimme itsemme jumalaksi. Onneksi Luoja tietää, millaisia olemme! 

4. Jumala osoittaa, että hän ei anna kunniaansa kenellekään toiselle. 

When Moses asked God's name by which he could introduce "his Boss" to the Israelis, God gave an answer, which teach us: 

1. "I am that I am" is the greatest and the highest manifestation we can understand of God with our limited intelligence and it gives an expression of his uniqueness and his superiority in the whole universe. 

2. God has no need to give an explanation or an adjustment of his name.

3. If God had said only one word instead of a sentence, we might use it as a mantra, and we might build up groups around the right pronunciation of that word, and the groups might have competitions of their superiority after that how many miracles they have succeeded to do. By competing we might raise us to be a god. Fortunately God knows what we are like! 

4. God proves that he doesn't give his glory to anyone else. 

Katsokaamme, miten Johannes kuvaa ylivertaisen Jumalan saapumista taivaan pilvissä (Ilm. 19: 11- 16): "Ja minä näin taivaan auenneena. Ja katso: valkoinen hevonen, ja sen selässä istuvan nimi on Uskollinen ja Totinen, ja hän tuomitsee ja sotii vanhurskaudessa. Ja hänen silmänsä olivat niinkuin tulen liekit, ja hänen päässään oli monta kruunua, JA HÄNELLÄ OLI KIRJOITETTUNA NIMI, JOTA EI TIEDÄ KUKAAN MUU KUIN HÄN ITSE, ja hänellä oli yllään vereen kastettu vaippa, ja nimi jolla häntä kutsutaan, on Jumalan Sana. Ja häntä seurasivat ratsastaen valkoisilla hevosilla taivaan sotajoukot, puettuina valkeaan ja puhtaaseen pellavavaatteeseen. Ja hänen suustansa lähtee terävä miekka, että hän sillä löisi kansoja. Ja hän on kaitseva heitä rautaisella valtikalla, ja hän polkee kaikkivaltiaan Jumalan vihan kiivauden viinikuurnan. Ja hänellä on vaipassaan kupeellaan kirjoitettuna nimi:'KUNINGASTEN KUNINGAS JA HERRAIN HERRA'.”  

Let's have a look how John discripes the superior God coming upon the clouds of heaven (Rev. 19: 11 - 16): "And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and HE HAD A NAME WRITTEN, THAT NO MAN KNEW, BUT HE HIMSELF. And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood; and his name is called The Word of God. And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clear. And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations; and he shall rule them with a rod of iron; and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.” 

Huomaamme, että Jumalaa kyllä kutsutaan monella nimellä. Onhan "rakkaalla lapsella monta nimeä"! Mutta vain Jumala tietää oman nimensä. Johannes ei paljastanut, kertooko Jumala omilleen nimeänsä missään vaiheessa. Luultavasti hänen nimensä = luonteensa on pyhien tutkistelun kohde halki ikuisuuksien! Tärkeintä tässä ajassa Jumalan tuntemisessa on sydämen usko, joka tulee Jumalalta, joka on uskon alkaja ja täyttäjä! 

We can notice that God is called by many names. "A dear child does really have many names"! But only God knows his own name. John didn't tell us whether God shall reveal his name at some stage. Probably his name = his character is the object of the studies of the saints for ever! The most important thing now when talking about God is faith of hearth, and that faith comes from God who makes it to begin and to be fulfilled.
